Upcoming Update To Advanced Email Editor.
Published
On June 28th an update to the eTapestry Advanced Email Editor will be released by our third-party partner, that may impact the way button padding is displayed in your emails.
Our third party email provider is releasing an enhancement to improve viewing compatibility with Outlook email clients. Prior to this date we recommend that you review your email template designs, email drafts or scheduled emails to make sure that your buttons don't need to be adjusted.
What should I be looking for when I review my templates?
Specifically you should look at button padding settings. Currently buttons today display with margins in most email clients by default. After June 28, buttons will not have a default margin.
The below screenshots depict what your button will look like before and after the enhancements are released when a button has no padding settings applied. You likely won’t see any issues in the edit mode, however the padding difference will be evident when you move into the Preview step or when you test an email.
See the examples below. In the image labeled "Current" we see how button padding is handled currently and in the image labeled "New" we see how the button padding will change. Reminder: This is not the expected behavior of all buttons.

New
What do I need to do to fix the issue?
Check padding settings on buttons (see screen shot below) used in your templates to determine if additional padding will be necessary to achieve the button display you desire.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thanks!
