Managing the Dashboard - Part 2

Published
In my last blog, Managing the Dashboard - Part 1, I discussed what the dashboard is, how it can be customized, and what some of the tiles can be used for.  This week, let's review some more of the tiles available to add to your Dashboard.

Two straight forward tiles that can be quite helpful are the Favorite Reports, which will list out any report you mark as a favorite, and the Recently Viewed Reports and Queries, which will list out your most recently viewed reports and queries, etc.

Now let's get into the report tiles that require a bit more information.

The Performance Report tiles are available for Approaches, Campaigns, and Fundraisers. These tiles allow you to set a specific campaign, approach, or fundraiser for the tile to monitor. These performance tiles feature a thermometer to visually show the progress being made toward the goal you are evaluating. In addition to the thermometer, these tiles detail the Goal, Raised, Received, or Pledged Amounts, Number of Transactions, and the Percentage Raised of the goal.

The Goal Performance tile works off of a goal that you can set by navigating to the Donation Strategies menu under the Management tab. This goal is not specific to any Campaign, Approach or Fundraiser, thus allowing you to set a more general organization goal. This feature allows you to set a Revenue, Average Gift, and New Donors goal. You also have the option to set a date range for your goal. This tile shows the progress towards all three aspects of your goal. You can change any of the approaches, campaigns, fundraisers, or set goals by selecting Change within these tiles.

The Top Donor tile allows you to set a specific time frame to see the Top Donors.  It will detail the Names, Raised Amounts, and Number of Transactions for the top five donors in the specified time period.

Similar to the Top Donor tile, the Recent Gifts tile allows you to set a time period as well as a minimum dollar amount to look for. This tile lists the Total Raised Amount for the set criteria, and details the Name, Transaction Date, and Transaction Amount.

You can click Refresh on all of these reports to get the most up to date data. If you would like to see a more detailed report, you can select See Full Report.

Dashboard reports are hard coded and we are not able to edit the columns used. If you would like to run a more custom report, I suggest creating a custom report in Reports. If you need any help creating your custom report, please create a case.
