Altru/Tableau Visualization Project - Files and Instructions

Published 3
Hi all,

They are finally here. Today we are launching the Tableau/Altru Visualization Project. Using the power of a well regarded third-party application in the field of analytics, and OData feeds from Altru queries, we can create some great reports. If you would like to try this out for your organization, follow these steps:

1. Install Tableau
If your organization has an annual operation budget of under $5million you can receive a 2-year license of Tableau for just a one-time admin fee of $58.  For more information, please go here: http://www.tableaufoundation.org/initiatives/tableau-non-profits.  You need a full desktop version of Tableau installed in order to set up and refresh the Altru/Tableau visualizations. Any user who wants to view the resulting reports needs just the free Tableau Reader application: http://www.tableau.com/products/reader

2. Import Your Queries
Using the XML file and the attached instructions, import the necessary queries into Altru.

3. Link the Queries to the Sample Workbook
Using the attached instructions, and the zipped Tableau workbook, changed the sata used for the reports from sample data, to your data.

That's it! You can then send the workbook file to your colleagues, and you can refresh the data periodically using the attached instructions.

As this is new project we are trying out, our Altru Support team will not be the ones to assist you with any issues or questions. Please direct any questions to the following forum post, and I will monitor it as much as possible

Got questions or issues?  Join the Altru/Tableau Visualization Project forum here:  https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/407/26980

And finally, if you need any customization or expansion of these types of visualizations, please contact our Servies team for any followup.
