Giving Checkout is our solution for an easy-to-use, customizable donation form, absent of any processing fees. You can design the intended donor flow by customizing the pre-fixed donation amounts, providing an impact statement, and accepting modern credit cards and mobile wallets. Three Ways to Use Giving Checkout

Please note: This blog will take you to third-party sites for additional instruction.

Start an online monthly sustainer program

  1. Log into JustGiving

  1. Click on Giving Checkout

  1. Choose the Custom checkout form type; set the default to Monthly.

  1. If desired, you can route the donor to a unique thank you page (this would be created and published elsewhere).

Don’t have one? Send them to your email sign up form instead so they can stay informed about what their recurring contribution is doing.

  1. Add a tracking code to the link. This is used as a reference or source code identifier and helps you see what locations/channels convert the most donors.

  1. Once the flow has been designed, you will reach a page with 2 types of code.

  • The top option is a link that you can put behind your existing website’s button. Use this if you are replacing your current donation form that is available to page visitors. You can also use this code to hyperlink your existing email signature or a call-to-action in your emails.

  • The second box of code provides both the visual button and its hyperlinked functionality. Likely, this will have to be added to your website’s template by your web admin.

Collect donations through mass marketing communications

  1. Log into JustGiving

  1. Click on Giving Checkout

  1. Choose your checkout form type. This may depend on the copy you are using in the email.

  • For example, if you are emailing your supporters to raise money for disaster relief, you may wish to leave the default values and set up a Standard checkout, so you can get the form created as quickly as possible.

  1. If desired, you can route the donor to a unique thank you page (this would be created and published elsewhere).

  1. Add a tracking code to the link. This is used as a reference or source code identifier and helps you see what locations convert the most donors.

  1. Once the flow has been designed, you will reach a page with 2 types of code.

  • The top option is a link that you can put behind your existing button.

    • You can also use this code to hyperlink your existing email signature or a call-to-action in your emails. This is a great option if you want to also promote the text Give Now in your emails from Outlook or Gmail.

  • The second box of code provides both the visual button and its hyperlinked functionality. You can use this code for your emails built in Constant Contact or MailChimp.

Increase online giving from direct mail sends

  1. Log into JustGiving

  1. Click on Giving Checkout

  1. Choose your checkout form type. I recommend using the Custom form if you want to choose the default giving amounts and add an impact statement, like “$X provides Y outcome.”

  1. If desired, you can route the donor to a unique thank you page (this would be created and published elsewhere).

Don’t have one? Send them to your email sign up form instead.

  1. Add a tracking code to the link (think EOY21Direct). This is used as a reference or source code identifier and helps you see what locations convert the most donors.

  1. Once the flow has been designed, you will reach a page with a QR code generator. Download the code and save it.

QR codes allow a person to scan the image with their phone. Then, it pulls up a website automatically. By downloading the QR code, you can insert or copy and paste it into your direct mail appeals with a friendly call to action like “Scan and give today!” or “Scan this code with your phone to make a donation now.” These are great for printing on mailed items, fundraising packs, event fundraising materials, tithing and collections envelopes, and in-person fundraising signs or banners.

Don’t see Giving Checkout? Giving Checkout is not available in Canada. For some of you utilizing Blackbaud Merchant Services™, Giving Checkout will not be visible. In order to take advantage of Giving Checkout, you can disconnect BBMS as the payment processor. Learn how here.

  • In the United States, JustGiving from Blackbaud uses Blackbaud Merchant Services™ or a third-party payment processor for payments. Giving Checkout operates on the third-party processor and not Blackbaud Merchant Services. For funds received through Giving Checkout, we partner with The Blackbaud Giving Fund to disburse. See our Terms of Service for more information.
  • Switching from BBMS to the Blackbaud Giving Fund will impact your current disbursement schedule and reporting. You may wish to learn more about how we process and pay your donations before disconnecting BBMS.

Once you have disabled BBMS, you are ready to create your custom link through the Giving Checkout tab. Please note, the 0% fee structure applies only to donations made through the giving link; processing fees will still apply to donations received through Campaign and Fundraising pages.
