Important Update For Clients Using Blackbaud Secure Payments

Published

As of August 28 2016, NetCommunity clients using Blackbaud Secure Payments (BBSP) version 1.0 web pages will be upgraded to responsive web pages (BBSP version 2.0).

This change is required as part of improved Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. BBSP 2.0 is responsive so that donors using mobile devices will get an optimized user experience and supports HTML5 and CSS3 coding.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This upgrade is cosmetic in nature and will have no impact on the ability to accept and process payments. In some cases, minor adjustments may be needed to correct any visual imperfections that may occur.

If you would like to make this change before August 28, here are the steps you will need to take. They will vary depending upon the version of NetCommunity you're currently operating on.
  • If you are on BBNC v7.0 or plan to upgrade before August 28, you can test and upgrade to 2.0 through the product configuration. For details on how to do this, see instructions here.
  • If you are on an older version and have plans to upgrade to BBNC v7.0 in the near future, it is recommended that you do so as soon as possible. This will give you an opportunity to preview what your payments pages will look like and make any adjustments needed before the upgrade to responsive pages (BBSP v 2.0) is made automatically.
  • In case you are unable to upgrade to BBNC v7.0, then your payment pages will be automatically upgraded to responsive web pages (BBSP version 2.0) on August 28, 2016. You will need to review your payments pages after that date and make any adjustments needed. We recommend you work with your account team or support to preview your templates or if you have any questions or concerns about this automatic upgrade to responsive web pages (BBSP v2.0).
  • If you are not using Blackbaud Secure Payments for your payments pages, there will be no impact.
In order to lessen your PCI burden and keep up to date with industry security guidelines, it is always recommended that you use Blackbaud Secure Payment pages for payment processing and update to the most current version of BBNC as soon as possible.

Please see this KB article and contact your account team or support if you have any questions or concerns about this upcoming change.
