NetCommunity 7.1 Service Pack 1 Released!

Published

We are pleased to announce the release of Blackbaud NetCommunity 7.1 Service Pack 1.

You’ve probably already noticed the new naming convention (SP1) of this release. Going forward, NetCommunity releases will be numbered as Service Packs of NetCommunity 7.1. Even though they will be called Service Packs, every release will include features, enhancements, and improvements along with bug fixes.

Key highlights of NetCommunity 7.1 SP1 include –
  • Personalized Email subject lines – We've added a new capability in NetCommunity that allows you to personalize subject lines in emails. Personalization has been shown to increase open rates of your emails [1] and allows you to better target your messages. This enhancement is the result of an idea that a client posted in our Ideas Forum that was subsequently voted to the top of the list.

  • Updated HTML editor in Email Messages and Templates – We've upgraded the HTML editor used to create email messages and email templates to the most recent version, TinyMCE version 4. One of the most important benefits of this upgrade is the inclusion of the HTML <head> tag necessary to create responsive design. With responsive design, emails will display optimally on any device — desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

  • Events Attendee List – NetCommunity 7.1 SP1 will include the ability to configure and enable an attendee list on the Event Registration form part. This functionality will benefit organizations that want to show a list of event registrants to encourage more people to register. Event registrants will be able to see who's coming to an event as well as choose to opt out of being included in the attendee list.

  • Email Sign up form – We are introducing a brand-new part called Email Signup. This will afford organizations with an easy way to acquire and update constituent information without requiring constituents to log in or register. The information a constituent enters will be pulled down as a sign-up request in The Raiser’s Edge and can be matched to existing records or added to the constituent database.

  • Mini Donation Form - Finally, we are releasing an exciting new part called a Mini Donation Form as a Beta release. This form is intended to capture quick donations, and represents the first NetCommunity part to use the Blackbaud Checkout experience. Blackbaud Checkout will provide a superior donor experience while still utilizing a Blackbaud-hosted secure page to collect payment information, even for clients who host their own NetCommunity site. This part also leverages a new way of handling transactions that will further safeguard donor data as well as provide a foundation for a new full-featured donation form scheduled to be included in a subsequent release. The Blackbaud Checkout overlay payment experience will also give customers who use Blackbaud Merchant Services additional wallet features of Visa Checkout, Masterpass, and eventually Apple Pay.
