Help! There Are Duplicates In My Database!
Published
If you have upgraded to the latest version of The Raiser’s Edge you may notice that you can no longer set your duplicate criteria within configuration.
However don’t dismay, The Raiser’s Edge offers a handy option called the Duplicate Constituent Management Tool within Admin that can check your database for duplicates, provide you with the potential duplicates and allow you to merge or mark a record as not a duplicate.
To get started, go to Admin and select Duplicate Constituent Management Tool.
Here you can run either an Individual or Organisation search.
When your results appear, you can see how many records are listed as potential duplicates.
You can set your options in Tools and Settings for the master record and the next records etc.
If you decide to merge the potential duplicate into the master record you can simply click on the link. Alternatively marking the record as ‘Not a Duplicate’ removes this record from the report.
You can pull all or some data across to merge and you also have the option to delete the source constituent record that you’re merging from.
If you pull gift information across to merge into the master record, you can also opt to exclude soft credits from the merge.
Once you have either merged the record(s) or marked them as ‘Not a Duplicate’ they will no longer appear on the report the next time you run it.
If you wish to see the older version of the report, you can select File > Preview > Report
