What's New in Raiser's Edge NXT the week of May 26

Hopefully everyone in the States had a relaxing and respectful Memorial Day Holiday! To welcome you back to the work week and help shake off that BBQ hangover, Raiser's Edge NXT updated with new features and enhancements to ease managing constituent relationships and information and — with Prospect Research Management — track details about your proposal efforts.

"Solicitors" are now "fundraisers." To effectively fund-raise, your organization cultivates meaningful relationships with constituents, researches prospective donors, and much more behind in the scenes. In short, fundraising is more than just the "ask." To more accurately describe the people who interact with constituents and manage related activity on behalf of your organization, they now appear as "fundraisers" throughout the web interface, as opposed to "solicitors." (In the database view, fundraisers still appear as "solicitors" (or "canvassers" outside of the US or Canada)).

Easily manage unassigned constituents. To easily identify which active constituents aren't assigned to a fundraiser, you can use the new Unassigned constituents list. From this list, you can view details about each constituent — such as wealth rating, giving history, and contact information — to determine who would best cultivate the relationship and assign them to fundraisers based on those informed decisions. To open this list, select Fundraising, Unassigned Constituents. (Admins! To set up the Unassigned constituents list for your organization, choose which security groups should access it. For information, check out the Security Group Rights Help.)

Set alerts for constituent records. To give a reminder or special instructions about a constituent's record, you can now set an alert to appear at the top of the record. For example, you can set an alert as a reminder to not update the record without first contacting the assigned fundraiser or with instructions to handle a high-priority donor with care. To view and manage a record's alert, select Alert under its profile information. For more information, see the Alerts Help. (In the database view, alerts appear as "annotations.")

Expand/collapse all constituent information. To quickly browse a constituent's record, you can now collapse or expand all its information. For details, see the Record Management Help.

Automatically open Work Center and easily view everyone's portfolios. For instant access to your assigned portfolio of constituents and related activity, Work Center now automatically opens when you log in (if you have right to access Work Center to begin with).

If you can view other's portfolios and related activity in Work Center, such as a fundraising manager or other supervisor, you can now see everyone's assignments at once, without the need to bounce between fundraisers. For this consolidated view, select Change fundraiser and choose All fundraisers.

Add and delete custom fields for proposals. With Prospect Research Management, you can manage proposal efforts to cultivate relationships with prospective donors. To save specialized information about a proposal — such as details for internal tracking — you can now add and delete custom fields on a proposal's record. For more information, check out the Custom Fields Help.

Edit specific propoosal information. To quickly update information about a proposal effort, you can now select Edit under Details, Propsoal funding, or Assigned to on its record to adjust its campaign or fund, funding amounts or dates, or assigned fundraisers, respectively. For more details, see the Proposal Records Help.
