What's New In Raiser's Edge NXT The Week Of October 1

This week Raiser's Edge NXT introduces enhancements in Insight designer and (for those with Donation form designer) new options in donation forms. For some, it also includes the ability to identify and merge duplicate records.

Find measures and attributes quickly in Insight Designer. With Insight designer, you can create your own customized metrics beyond what's available out of the box in Report builder. From AnalysisReport builderInsights, you can now quickly find measures and attributes grouped with other similar metrics. For example, to gauge the overall variation and progress of your actions, you can look under the Actions group for the Constituent actions measure or the Action category attribute. Previously, all measures and attributes were listed together alphabetically.

When you search for a measure or attribute by keyword, groups matching your term also appear in the results. You can select the group name to view all measures and attributes that belong to that group. For more information, see Insights.

Tip: To view the group a measure or attribute belongs to, select ? next to its name.

Associate appeals with donation forms (for those with Donation form designer). d2e6338f5207c1862856afac8be652d2-huge-do Appeals are the solicitations you use to bring in gifts, such as direct mailings or emails. To help you track the online gifts you receive from these solicitations, you can now associate appeals with donation forms. For example, if you use a donation form to collect gifts from a phonathon, select the phonathon as the appeal on the form.

From ToolsDonation form designer, add or edit a donation form and choose a solicitation in Appeals under Get started. For more information, see Donation Forms.

Tip: To add or manage appeals, select Appeals from Records in the database view.

Allow online donors to split gifts across multiple funds (for those with Donation form designer). Funds represent a donor’s intent for how you should use a gift, such as toward a specific cause or financial purpose. For example, a capital campaign for a new library may use separate funds for construction, books, and furniture. To help donors indicate their intentions for online gifts, you can now allow them to split their giving across more than one fund.

From ToolsDonation form designer, add or edit a donation form. Under Get started, choose the funds to include as options in the Funds for designating gifts field and select Allow donors to split a gift between multiple funds. For more information, see Donation Forms.

Tip:  In the database view, you create funds from Records.

Identify and merge duplicate records (for some). To help ensure successful interactions with your constituents, reduce costs, and improve the accuracy of your data, Raiser's Edge NXT now automatically identifies possible duplicate records in your database. In ToolsData Health, under Possible duplicates, you can view statistics about potential duplicates, review matches, and merge records. For more information, see Duplicate Management.
