What's New In Raiser's Edge NXT The Week of August 4

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT introduces new attributes in Report builder. For some, it also adds the ability to merge duplicates from constituent records.

Create detailed reports with new record ID attributes. With Report builder, you can design and manage insights and dashboards to dig into your data and help you make decisions.

When you compare your insights and dashboard results to a report or static query in database view, you can now apply and view attributes to analyze by record ID. This ensures that the sets of records you compare are in agreement, such as the same campaigns or funds, and that you’re comparing equivalent data.

From Analysis, Report builder, Insights, the attributes you can now use include:

Appeal record ID
Campaign record ID
Education record ID
Fund record ID
Gift split record ID
Package ID

Merge known duplicates from a constituent record (for some of you). To help you more quickly address duplicate constituent records, you can now merge a record into another directly from the constituent record you are viewing. When you see a record that you know is a duplicate, you can select Merge into another record to search for a target record and complete the merge. Previously, you could only do this by reviewing the records under Tools, Data Health.

Hi Carrie Goodale! Thanks for your question. I followed up with the product manager for this feature and he explained that the team prioritized the current fields because they’re available for you to edit and use in web view. The team's open to eventually including more fields and he recommends adding your suggestion to the idea bank or voting on an existing idea.

Any insight/updates on to when we can expect to be able to merge ALL the information for duplicates so that we can use both in RE and NXT? As of now, you cannot merge everything. My organization would need that. We have thousands of potential dups in the system from years of people adding them without doing the research. Thanks

Hi Sunshine! Thank you for your comment. I hope you get this soon in one of our upcoming waves. By default, when you get this feature, only admins can merge records. However, admins can also grant permission to other users to do this if that works best for your organization. They would find this under Control Panel, Security, Roles. This particular permission is under the Tools role where admins can find Data Health tasks permission options. Hope this helps!

I don't think we have the merge functionality yet, but I hope it is something only admins can do.

Oh, I was so excited to see the Merge into another record.. but then realized I'm not one of the "some." I'm looking forward to this feature, as duplicate management is a bit cumbersome via Data Health.
