Validate a batch of gifts. To help you clear exceptions from a batch after you correct errors, you can now validate the batch to refresh its information and determine whether data entry errors still remain.

When a batch contains errors that prevent it from being approved, an exception message appears on its record. Some exceptions require you to take action outside of the batch to correct an error. For example, if a gift's fund is past expiration, you can adjust its dates from the fund record in the database view. Then, return to the batch record and select Validate to refresh the batch. Resolved exceptions are cleared.

Previously, to clear exceptions, you needed to select Edit, Edit batch gifts, then Save and close to refresh the data.

When all exceptions are cleared, you can approve the batch to create records for its gifts.
