What's New In Raiser's Edge NXT The Week Of September 21

Building on recent enhancements in Online Express, PayPal is now a payment option for donation and registration forms in Raiser’s Edge NXT! When one-time payments process through Blackbaud Merchant Services, PayPal displays in Blackbaud Checkout.

To get started, you’ll need:

• Blackbaud Merchant Services account (active)

• PayPal Business account

• Registration or donation form in Raiser’s Edge NXT that processes payments with Blackbaud Merchant Services

If you already use Blackbaud Merchant Services and have a PayPal Business account, follow the steps in this guide to get set up.

To streamline how you manage event payments in the web view, you can now link existing gifts to participants. Previously you could only link gifts to participant records in the database view.

From a participant’s record, under Fees and payments, select Link gift and find the existing gift. You can select to pay fees and use the remaining amount as an additional donation or use the entire amount as a donation. For more information, see Fees and Payments.

Note: This feature is only available to users with rights to add and edit participants. To assign these rights, in Security, add a user to an Events role. From that role, select Show permissions and for Events, select Add/Edit.

Show participant options based on registration fees
To help you gather the correct information about registrants when they use online registration forms, you can now show participant options based on the registration fees they select. For example, only show a dinner choice field for registrants who select a registration fee that includes dinner.

From an event record, under Online registration forms, edit an existing form or create a new one. Then under Form, Form designer, from Build, select Registrant details. Under Participant options, select the field to add to the form, enter the text for the label, and select which registration fees to show it with.
