Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT: Replacing a Receipt in a Series

Have you ever sent a gift receipt to a donor but needed to change it later because you noticed an error or the gift information changed? Now, with a few simple clicks, you can replace a receipt in Raiser's Edge NXT web view.

Go to Fundraising, Gift receipting, Receipt series, and select the name of the receipt series with the original receipt. Then select Replace receipt next to its receipt number.

Next, select whether to send the replacement as an email or PDF, then choose the receipt series with the updated number. Finally select Replace to issue the new receipt and cancel the previous version.







When the donor receives their copy, it shows that the receipt is a replacement in the Receipt number field, including the original receipt number, new receipt number and any updates or changes. Each receipt, the original and the replacement, will reference one another to ensure proper documentation.

How do I view replaced receipts?

In the receipt series list, the original receipt displays as canceled and shows the new receipt number. The new receipt will also include the original receipt number.







You can also view the updated receipt number from the gift record under Acknowledgements and receipts.
