Altru Community Redesign: Check Out the New Look

The Altru community will be upgraded next week to include a brand new look and design with some great additional functionality. The basics are the same: You still ask questions, report problems, submit ideas and praise. But the new features should make finding relevant topics and connecting with other users even easier. Check out the before and after details below, so you're not caught off guard on Monday.

We use this area of the community to make announcements. It used to reside about halfway down the right hand side of the page, but has been moved to the top right hand corner in bright orange - so you never miss the most recent news. Here you'll see training opportunities, release notes, and any urgent announcements.



Products & Services are now Categories: 

Community topics have always been divided into products and services - Membership, Reports, Constituent Records, etc. - which used to live in the bottom right hand side. Now, they've moved up just a little and are called "Categories." If you're interested in seeing all the topics related to a particular area of Altru, select your category. Clicking "view all" will give you the complete list of categories to choose from.

We'll be featuring discussions, events, and tips in this section. You can also see the most recent contributors - so be sure to update your profile to include your name, org, and picture!

Additional Support Links:

Previously, all of your additional support links were located on the right hand column. Well, they are still in that area, but are now called Related Links. Go here if you need to chat with a Customer Support Analyst, search Knowledgebase, sign up for additional training, and more!

In addition to rearranging, there are new features to improve your experience:

You can now remove your "Me Too!" vote, if you added it by accident.

You can now search within a particular category. So if you only want to see topics that mention "batch" and are related only to membership, you're able to do that now. Just select your category first and put your search terms in the search bar.

You can agree with Praise.

The community is optimized for all platforms - so it will look nice and behave naturally on mobile phones, tablets, or your desktop.

Use the tabs to sort and search for particular topics. If you want to see the most recent questions, click questions. If you want to see ideas that are under consideration, sorted by me too's, that's an option as well.



All of your searching will take place in the main "start a conversation" search bar. If you're looking for a particular topic, you don't have to ask a full question. Just type "membership AND card," hit search and you'll see topics that include both terms.
