New Features Coming in October with Altru 3.18

Published
In early October, you'll find new features included in your Altru™ subscription designed to increase efficiency and add functionality.

Visit the Altru New Features page to get all the information and guidance you need to begin using the new features right away.

The theme of this release is driving simplification!

  • Security roles: Altru 3.18 adds two new system roles. The Calendar View Only role allows people to view the calendar without editing or adding events, when you have those special events or facility rentals now you can let your security or volunteers view the calendar without worrying about any incorrect changes. The Restricted Constituent Revenue Role allows you to restrict certain individuals, such as ticket sellers or volunteers, from seeing giving history when entering data. As you enter into a Capital Campaign or seasonal giving you want to make sure that donor information is secure.

  • Constituent tabs: As part of our ongoing efforts to make constituent information easier to find, we added additional tabs to the constituent record. These tabs include: vendor, history, volunteer, corporate info, committee, bank and events.

  • Sales Tax: Another Altru Community suggestion has been implemented! With Altru 3.18, handling a tax exempt order is as simple as checking a box!

  • Open Data Protocol: Open Data Protocol, or Odata, makes it simple to consume, share and manipulate your Altru data. Odata provides standard access to Altru data outside the Altru system, so you can share dashboards and charts with any user, regardless of Blackbaud permissions, but also hold data refreshes to the user’s security permissions. OData is consumed by other programs, so you can create pivot tables in Excel powered by Odata or dashboards in Tableau. In addition to the resources on the New Features page, be on the lookout for a blog post on the Community with more details.

We are thrilled to release this new functionality to you and always welcome your feedback.
