My family and I recently made a trip to a local museum. Our goal was to make family memories and introduce our little one to a very special exhibit featuring his current favorite character—a big red dog. As we purchased our tickets, our friendly ticket seller asked if we’d considered a museum membership. She quickly ticked off some of her favorite benefits of being a member. Then, she kindly told us to enjoy our visit, and mentioned we could apply our current ticket purchase toward a membership. We left with a map of the museum and some valuable information on how to apply our tickets toward a membership. 

I couldn’t help but appreciate how the ticket seller took steps to welcome us and at the same time cultivate us to become members. She was friendly in her approach and wanted us to enjoy our current visit, all while planting in our minds the idea of becoming a member.

I really appreciated that this museum liaison had the knowledge and skills required to actually apply a ticket purchase toward a membership. And that made me think of our Altru users. In Altru, it only takes a few steps to apply a purchased ticket toward a membership:
  1. In Daily Sales, add the requested membership to the cart
  2. With the membership highlighted, click Apply Tickets
  3. Search for the purchased tickets
  4. Mark each checkbox beside each ticket to be applied
  5. Click Save
  6. Review the membership deduction in the cart

At this point I’m sure you’re wondering how the big red dog exhibit went over—it was a HUGE hit. Conversations about that museum trip still come up amongst our family, and our little one is requesting we take all his grandparents with us next time. While we chose not to purchase a membership on that particular trip, I have a feeling we will on our next visit—which our little one is scheduling to happen ASAP!
