Hosting visitors and creating delightful experiences is at the heart of what you do as a nonprofit organization. Visitors don’t stop coming when you and your staff need training. At Blackbaud University, we’ve created two new quick classes designed to give you maximum benefits with minimum time investment. Learn how to perform important customer service and database cleanup tasks and get right back to delivering on your mission.

Managing Sales Orders90 minutes

Once you’ve made a sale, there are still tasks to be done to ensure satisfied (and happy!) customers. From the sales order, you can:

  • Reschedule tickets: Easily exchange tickets for another date and time of the same program.
  • Process refunds: Provide full or partial refunds for visitors or members when a program is canceled, a visitor has a conflict, or for any customer service reason.
  • Manage preregistered programs: To make sure each day’s programs run smoothly, print program rosters in advance and check in registrants as they arrive.
Database Cleanup—Duplicates90 minutes

Like taxes, duplicates are a fact of life. The key is to have a solid plan for duplicate management. An effective plan includes:

  • Prevention: Good data entry standards and policies can help prevent duplicates from being added to the database in the first place.
  • Daily Maintenance: When you and your staff encounter a duplicate constituent during your daily work, don’t ignore it! Each staff member should know what to do when they find a duplicate.
  • Search and merge processes: Run the search and merge processes on a regular basis to identify and fix duplicates.
Join us for one of these new 90-minute classes and let us know what you think!

Database cleanup is a weekly process for us on duplicates.  Before we run our online membership purchases we run a full duplicate search and clean up.  Over time this has greatly reduced our duplicate records and improved our data quality.
