Smart Aid Dashboard Overview

This week we're taking a look at the Smart Aid Dashboard, all the different options available to you and what each one does. When you log into Smart Aid, you are dropped on the Smart Aid Home Dashboard. There are several possibilities on this screen that can assist you in managing your school’s Financial Aid process.

At the top of the page, you’ll notice a row of numbers which you can select to view different cross-sections of your applicant pool. Each number links to a different application status in your Smart Aid system. When one is selected, you will see a list of the families that meet the criteria of the selected status. You can view the family details and the family’s application by selecting the family name.

Your options are as follows:
  • Pre-filled: These applications have been rolled over from the information provided in last year’s application. Families just need to be log in and complete them. These applications are not included in the Total Active Application count.
  • Open: These applications have been started by families but have not yet been submitted to Smart Aid.
  • Submitted: These are applications that have been submitted to Smart Aid but no documentation has been received from the family.
  • Documents Received: These applications have been submitted and the family has submitted the needed documentation. These applications are ready for review.
  • On Hold: These applications have started the review process, but one or more documents are missing from the application. The applicant has been contacted about the missing documentation.
  • In Progress: These applications have received additional documentation and are back in the queue for review.
  • Verified: These applications have all the needed documentation and have been reviewed by Smart Aid.
  • Total Active Applications: The only applications not included here are the Pre-filled applications.
  • All Applications: Includes all applications.
In addition, you have access to Geographic distribution and Top Five Recent Status Updates. Geographic distribution allows you to view where students live in relation to your school on a Google Map. You can select a student from the map then select the App number to view the family’s information. Top Five Recent Status Updates shows the five most recent students to have their application status updated. You can quickly view their name, the date of change, prior status, and current status. Select the Student’s name to access their family details and application. Finally, to view more than the five most recent status updates, select View All.

We hope this information helps you navigate around Smart Aid and find what you need faster! Make sure to join us next week as we discuss another major addition to the Education management suite of products this summer: Competency Based Education. See you then!
