Branding Updates For Smart Tuition And Smart Aid

You may have already noticed a few changes recently, but now we're ready to officially announce the new names of Smart Tuition and Smart Aid and when you'll start seeing them throughout Blackbaud Education management. This summer, Blackbaud is officially updating the names of Smart Tuition and Smart Aid to join the rest of our Cloud Solution for K-12 Schools. We want to make it easier for schools to understand what we do, and this new naming system will do just that by aligning with our approach to descriptive naming.

The new product naming is as follows:
  • Blackbaud Tuition Management (formerly Smart Tuition)
  • Blackbaud Financial Aid Management (formerly Smart Aid)
We are taking a phased approach to these changes. Over the next few weeks, you will begin to see updates in both products transitioning away from the “Smart” name and replacing it with Blackbaud Tuition Management and Blackbaud Financial Aid Management, respectively.

There is no action for schools currently running any of these solutions to take. While the names are changing, the products themselves remain the same and schools will continue to benefit from our continuous innovation model. At this time, we are not changing the Smart Tuition branding for parents. They will continue to see Smart Tuition in all communications. We look forward to this latest step in presenting a united front to our customers and their communities.

  • I am not sure I understand. Does this mean our school admissions staff and business office will see this product as “Tuition Management,” and our parents will see it as “Smart Tuition”? How will that work for communication when parents call the school with questions and the two parties are referring to the same service by two different names? I was under the impression the rebranding was going to be visible to the parents, not just to the school.

  • Every time Blackbaud renames one of its products, they make it longer. I wish they would let it be.

  • Hi, The rebranding is going to be done in a tiered approach with School facing sites being addressed first. The parent portal and communications will be updated shortly after. Hope this helps!

  • Please send us NEW LOGO and a FLYER to help explain this to our parent/families. Thanks.

  • Can the pop-up banner please be removed? Clicking out of it every time is annoying.
