Skipping Past that Broken Record

Published
I’ll be honest … I was, without a doubt, a challenging child. There are countless stories in my family of the terror I inflicted on my parents and siblings. Myriad tales involve bubble gum. I apparently had a bad habit of sticking chewing gum all around the house and in the hair of my brother. To this day, he still gets nervous whenever I take out the Juicy Fruit.

But, if you were to ask my mother, she would undoubtedly say I was at my most challenging whenever we were driving somewhere. I was a “broken record” for every trip. I was the child who relentlessly asked if we were there yet. Whether it was an amusement park 2 hours away or the local grocery store 10 minutes away, I was in the back of the car being a broken record.
