This month's post features these topics:

  • What’s New
  • What’s Next
  • Features completely moving from database view to web view
  • Stay in the Know

What’s New

We recently released several new features in Financial Edge NXT web view!

Budget Distribution Report. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Budget Distribution report in web view. This report lists budget distributions for account, grant, and project budgets for a time period you select.

For more information, see Budget Distribution report.

Batch Detail Report. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the GL Batch Detail report in web view. This report provides detailed information about selected batches and transactions within those batches.

For more information, see Batch Detail report.

Export account, project, and grant activity details. From General ledger, you can now export account, project, and grant activity details from their respective records. By exporting, you can track and analyze your organization’s account, project, and grant activity in a more granular way.

As you drill through and analyze data from the Activity and Budget tiles for these records, to export details to an Excel .XLSX file, select Export on the action bar.

Payables Business Rules. You can now manage Payables business rules in web view. We're releasing these updates in waves. Some of you already see these changes, and some will see these updates in an upcoming wave.

What’s Next

We are currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you will see in upcoming releases:

Fixed Assets Business Rules — You will soon manage Fixed Assets business rules in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements.

Export account code details — From General ledger, Settings, you'll export account code details.

Distribution sets — You’ll add, edit, and delete distribution sets in web view. Previously, you managed distribution sets in database view.

Treasury — We’re introducing updates to Treasury's deposits and Miscellaneous (Misc.) Payments in Financial Edge NXT in the coming weeks. Misc. Payments replaces Cash Receipts in the database view, so you'll no longer have access to those records there. Bank accounts, credit card accounts, and Treasury reports are not impacted by these changes and customers with Accounts Receivable are not part of this release.

Bank Feed (Yodlee) — We are upgrading our Yodlee/Fastlink APIs in Financial Edge NXT to improve performance and offer better user experience. This upgrade also supports open banking.

Attachments — For security purposes, we are updating how attachments are downloaded in database view and WebPurchasing.

We will now scan all attachments with anti-virus scanning to improve your security experience. Attachments will be accessed via a shortcut link (URL extension) that will open to a Financial Edge NXT landing page, allowing you to access and download the file.

Receivables – Receivables will be offered as a read-only Preview. We'll monitor your feedback and make improvements as we prepare for general availability.

Features completely moving from database view to web view

Database view users: As we move database view features completely into web view, we'll communicate features and general timeframes using our existing communication channels.

Be sure to check What's New, What's Next, Financial Post, Financial NXT PUBs, Knowledgebase, and in-product messaging to track updates and plan accordingly.

Stay tuned as we fine-tune our resources and prepare to roll out this updated communication strategy.

Exporting to Excel in the account GL!!! ? I have been waiting for this for a long time. So glad it finally is there. Thank you!

The ability to run the batch detail report in Webview is great! Just a note if you are looking to get a detail view for only one batch you need to add that filter on your set up.

Completely agree! Now they just need to fix the line wrapping and spacing of the report. For a four line batch, If I remove the header its two pages (including the criteria page), if I add the header it prints a blank second page and the criteria page is page three.
