New Blackbaud Marketplace Permissions

In keeping with the principle of least privilege, we have introduced additional, more fine-grained controls over who can manage applications in the Blackbaud Marketplace.

Now, organization admins may assign permissions with a greater level of granularity to enable any user to manage SKY applications in the Marketplace. Admins can decide who gets to connect and disconnect applications, and who can approve scope changes.

We’re also giving you the ability to create a Marketplace user management role. This role has the ability to add additional users to manage applications.

This change is being released in waves. Once the new permissions are released in your environment, you'll be able to create these roles and assign them to users in the following places:

• From the Admin Console, select Security to access Security roles and User management.
• From your Blackbaud product, navigate to Control Panel, Security to access Security roles and User management. If you have multiple products in your Blackbaud environment, you can set up and assign these permissions from any one of them. You don’t have to set them up in each one.

Note: There will be a Marketplace admin role available by default that includes all the Marketplace permissions that can be assigned to a user.

Also by default, organization admins have the Marketplace permissions included in their role. If you previously were an environment admin, you will have the new Marketplace permissions assigned automatically for you. If you don’t, contact your organization admin to get it resolved.
