Venmo Now Available For Select US Customers

We're thrilled to announce that Venmo is now available as a payment method to a “first wave” of Blackbaud eTapestry customers in the United States.


Organizations that had an active Blackbaud Merchant Services – PayPal integration set up prior to mid-February 2022 are included in this first wave.


When the PayPal integration is enabled, the Venmo payment method will automatically display as a one-time gift payment option on forms that use Blackbaud Checkout.

In Blackbaud Checkout, Venmo offers:

• Standard OneRATE (2.8% + $0.26) for Venmo transactions
• Support for one-time gifts in US dollars
• Funds disbursement by PayPal to your organization’s PayPal Business account

How do I see the Venmo transactions?
On gift journal entries, queries, and in reports, Venmo transactions show as PayPal in the Gift Type field. To view and reconcile Venmo and PayPal transactions, and to view disbursements, log into your PayPal Business account.

When will Venmo (and PayPal) become more widely available?

We will continue to roll out Venmo in the United States, making it available at a future date to organizations that create new PayPal integrations with Blackbaud Merchant Services.


US organizations can follow the steps in the PayPal Integration Setup Guide to begin using PayPal immediately and Venmo as a future US payment option for Blackbaud Checkout transactions.
