New: 18 Designer Templates For Luminate Beta Email!

Do you need some email inspiration? Check out our new, Blackbaud-designed templates for Luminate Beta Email! Whether you’re sending a quick “thank you” email for donors to a recent campaign or refreshing the look of a monthly newsletter, these new templates will save you time, and give your emails a polished, professional – and mobile-friendly – look.

These new templates take the guess work out of choosing your layout and give you some built in best practices. You have 18 templates to choose from, for a variety of uses from welcome emails to event invitations.


Steady progress
When we started rolling out Luminate Beta Email this summer, we promised you’d see regular enhancements to this “next generation” email tool. This is the first major enhancement we’ve released – and we think you’ll enjoy the option to use these beautiful templates, created by our talented email designers at Blackbaud.

How do I use the new Email templates?

First, log in to Luminate Beta. In Marketing > Email, select Create an email, Create email from a template. 

Under Select a template, search for and select a template. 

  1. Choose a template
  2. Change out the images to match your brand
  3. Update the content, widgets, and buttons
  4. Pick your list and hit send!

Can I save an email as a template to use again?
Not yet. Currently you can copy an email you sent earlier to use as the basis for a new email. So if you create an email you like, copy it for the next one! In a future Email release we plan to add the ability to save an email design as a template.

I logged into Luminate Beta – why don’t I see Email?
There are a few reasons you might not see Email in Luminate Beta.

  • Email hasn’t been provisioned yet. Some Luminate accounts haven’t received Email yet due to issues we’re resolving with the new Permissions structure. As soon as it’s added to your account, we’ll post a “lightbox” notification. You’ll see this pop-up notification when you log in to Luminate Online.
  • You aren’t a Luminate Site Admin. To manage who can use Email, Luminate Online Site Administrators and Advanced Site Administrators automatically have admin access in Control Panel, Security. Before they can assign other users access to Marketing, those users must first access Luminate Beta from Luminate Online. 
    • Note: Site Administrators! If your organization uses Luminate Beta and Raiser's Edge NXT, contact Support to add new users to Email. In a future release, you'll also use the new role-based security in Luminate Beta.
