Blackbaud Acquires Kilter™ To Expand Activity-based Engagement In TeamRaiser®!

Published

We are excited to share that Blackbaud has acquired Kilter™, an intuitive, gamified activity-based engagement app to expand activity-based engagement within Blackbaud TeamRaiser®!

We have heard from your organizations that you’re looking for new ways to engage with current and potential supporters. At the same time, activity tracking has grown explosively, and is now part of daily life for millions. Blackbaud is helping you to harness the potential of both of these opportunities by offering an intuitive, gamified mobile app for activity tracking that will drive impact for nonprofits seeking to integrate more health and wellness support into their fundraising and engagement campaigns.

Kilter’s gamification drives deeper engagement and motivates individual users by helping event participants connect with and support one another. The app boasts virtually limitless activity type choices and expands engagement event options far beyond the familiar options of running, walking and cycling, to yoga, meditation, gardening and more—individuals can connect with the causes they care about most through the activities they love.

How and when can I start using it?
We plan to offer Kilter’s activity tracking app as a feature of your Blackbaud TeamRaiser solution. We are actively working on this integration and expect to make the app available to you, our TeamRaiser customers, with no additional subscription fees within a matter of months. The goal is for you to be able to leverage it for your spring 2023 events.

How can nonprofits benefit from this?
Kilter can help you expand the way you engage with your supporters. This functionality within your TeamRaiser solution will help you create broader engagement for new and activity-based campaigns, without the restrictions of location or timeframe. For example, you can host a yoga challenge for your supporters to unlock donations. Approximately 10–20% of sign-ups in every Kilter event have never donated to the organization before, giving nonprofits a robust opportunity to reach and engage new supporters.

How can event participants benefit from this?
From yoga to motorcycle rides and healthy eating, Kilter lets participants track activity from 60+ different physical and mental health activities – either in preparation for participation in your major fundraising event, or as a new engagement opportunity, with the option to connect actions to fundraising goals. Kilter integrates the fitness trackers participants are already using, including Apple Watch®, Fitbit®, Garmin®, and more, and it incorporates data from external platforms like Peloton® and Strava™. Finally, event participants can engage with each other and track performance with an interactive leaderboard.

Our mission is to connect and empower people and organizations to increase their impact for social good, and this acquisition reflects our continued commitment to supporting the evolving needs of our customers and delivering on innovation in the areas you care about most.
