Switching from IATS to BMS

We are getting ready to make the switch but I am curious to what others think of this. Did your company do it or did you get the Blackbaud team to do it? How did the transition go? Were there any glitches or was it a smooth action?

To meet the ongoing shifts in regulatory and Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance requirements, as of August 6, 2024, Blackbaud eTapestry® will be making changes to direct payment processing that will require updating your eTapestry payment settings to start using Blackbaud Merchant Services™. Updating these settings is crucial to ensure your payments continue to process without interruption, including any recurring payments.

    @Arlene Harten We are getting Blackbaud's help to an extent. If you are considering it, I would suggest reaching out soon, as there is a few weeks wait until we can get a consultant to help. We are going to be cutting it very close.

    Hi Amy, we are discussing whether it is better to do it ourselves or to pay the Blackbaud team to do it and after reading the step by step instructions it looks in-house doable but I wanted to hear from some others experiences with it before we go ahead and start it. Thank you for your feedback and you are right, August 6 is right around the corner!

    @Arlene Harten just a heads up that iATS is trying to charge us $500 to export the information. We're fighting it, but grrrrrrr.

    @Amy Barker charge you to export the info? That is crazy. In the instructions on how to transition from IATS to BBMS it says to contact IATS and ask them to unmask the full credit card info so you can export all the information to a cvs file. Sounds like they are not happy to do this.

    @Arlene Harten We completed the transition from iATS to BBMS this week. Accessing and downloading the credit card data from iATS was straightforward as was the uploading of the data file to BBMS. Our data file was small, which probably made the whole process a lot easier. Hope you're making a progress on your switch.
