Benevity - Reporting Changes

At the beginning of the week, the Benevity Reports page had a banner to say that there were some changes being made to reports and in the meantime some data would be missing from existing reports, but everything would be complete on 31st January (as far as I remember).

So far, it looks like the main change is that for every donation, the donor data is “Not shared by donor” even for what I'm fairly certain are regular donations that we have received for some time.

Since there is no longer donor information to go with the donations aside from the name of their employer, I suspect that we will have to allocate them to an anonymous record and while this does inadvertently solve the problem that Benevity doesn't have any reports for Gift Aid payments (where charities receive the tax a donor has paid on that donation amount), it does make stewarding these supporters difficult.

Does anyone know what the changes that were made to Benevity's reporting were? And do any of you also now face the problem that you're no longer receiving any supporter information to go with the donation?

It's hard to tell if they were never supposed to share this data with us in the first place, or the reports are still in their “some data will be missing while we make changes” state.

  • @Rachel Cavalier We're facing the same issues with Benevity - to say nothing of the issues with even trying to log in to the platform. We've also noticed a long lag time between the time a deposit hits our account and when the report is available to view (which is incredibly frustrating for reconciliation and acknowledgment purposes). I don't have any insight, but I hope all these issues are resolved soon.

    Oh gosh how frustrating! I suspect we only avoid the delay you experience since we're in the UK and it seems to take about a month for us to receive the payments anyway.

    It looks like the reports were still in their “some date will be missing” stage when I posted, and they seem to be back to as we usually see them - so hopefully you should be able to access them by now ?

    @Rachel Cavalier I experienced the same issue when processing gifts last week, but I have a weekly check on Monday morning of our matching gift platforms so took a look at Benevity again and all the names were there so maybe check again?

    apparently Benevity has fixed the issue. I just check this morning and the donor's name was listed. Now, I have to do an adjustment to the gift record. Fun.
