changing form validation
I have validation logic (for the opportunity form) that I would like to override. Is there a way to do that using some sort of extension? Could someone point me in the right direction as to what object it is I would be overriding? Thanks!

You should be able to use a data form add-in to change the behavior of out-of-the-box forms. Here is the documentation for doing so, hope it helps:
