FTM and Smokescreen Testing - Upgrade Web Seminar Series, Part 1

Published
Blackbaud Enterprise CRM Support’s Upgrade and Customization teams are joining together to de-mystify the upgrade process in a series of informational web seminars where we’ll address your major upgrade questions and concerns.

In Part 1 of the series, we’ll be discussing FTM (the Financial Transaction Model) and smokescreen testing – two of the first things that you need to consider when you begin thinking about an upgrade.

As you may have heard, FTM was introduced in version 2.93.  So if you’re on version 2.9 or 2.91, it’s something you’re going to encounter the next time you upgrade.  Our goal is to give you the facts and let you know how you can prepare in advance, to make the upgrade process go as smoothly as possible!

Smokescreen testing is part of that process – these are preliminary tests you can do before you get deep into an upgrade that’ll make it all easier in the long run.  We’ll talk about how, what, and when to test.

The web seminar is open to anyone who’s contemplating an upgrade but will be most helpful to you if your organization is on version 2.9 or 2.91.  The rest of the series will be scheduled and announced shortly, and they will all be applicable to every version of Blackbaud CRM!

By the end of this session, users will be able to:

  •   Define and describe FTM
  •   Prepare for the impact of FTM in upgrades to versions 2.93 or higher
  •   Understand what smokescreen testing is, why it’s important, and when to do it
  •   Develop a smokescreen test plan that is specific to your organization

The web seminar will be on 3/25/2014 at 1:00 p.m. ET.  Register here: FTM and Smokescreen Testing Part 1
