What's New in Raiser's Edge NXT the Week of April 26

Published

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT updates with something for everyone, with new features and enhancements across multiple features including constituent records, Lists, and — for those with Nonprofit Intelligence already enabled — Analyze and records of campaigns, funds, and appeals.

Save lists to the database view! In Lists, you can save filter settings for future reuse. You can now also save the records in a list as a static query — or, for a constituent list, a query list — in the database view.

  • 719867812ff300080bbdd9c539353cd2-huge-saWith filters, you can easily open the list again in the future for the latest records that meet the same criteria. To save a list's filters in the web view, select Save, In web view as filters.
  • Static queries provide a snapshot of your data at a single moment in time, such as to track a campaign's donors as of a specific date. You can't update these queries with different or additional records. To save a list's records as a static query selection in the database view, select Save, In database view as a static query.
  • Query lists enable you to add and remove constituents from lists as necessary, such as to refine recipients of an appeal. To save the records in a constituent list as a query list in the database view, select Save, In database view as a query list.
For more information, see the Lists Help.

2c05b2046427b9385d0faf59aaa1d366-huge-coManage constituent codes. To help track a constituent's affiliations with your organization, such as Board member or Volunteer, you can now add and manage constituent codes on their record. For a constituent with multiple codes, you can also sort them in order of importance, with their primary affiliation first. For more information, check out the Constituent Codes Help.

Format phone numbers consistently. To help keep your data clean and accurate, Raiser's Edge NXT now automatically applies globally-accepted, country-specific formats — provided by Google — to phone numbers on constituent records in the web view. If a phone number isn't valid for your country, Raiser's Edge NXT applies a default International format. If Raiser's Edge NXT can't identify a proper format, the phone number appears as configured in the database view. (In the database view, phone numbers appear as configured in the Phone types section of Tables in Configuration.) For more information, see the Contact Information Help.

0941bba0a46780b057fb7002ce2a61ed-huge-seSet up ratings for your organization. Ratings indicate a constituent's estimated wealth and capacity to give, based on information from in-house prospect research or outside agencies. To help prioritize ratings, system admins can now set whether your organization uses the Blackbaud NXT ratings — automatically provided by Target Analytics, a division of Blackbaud, Inc. — throughout Raiser's Edge NXT. Admins can also choose which custom ratings appear under Ratings on constituent records (and in what order).

Additionally, when a constituent has previous ratings for a custom category, you can now select older ratings under Ratings on their record to view them. For more information, see the Ratings Help.

Enhanced lists and mobile analytics with Nonprofit Intelligence. For those with Nonprofit Intelligence enabled, you now have additional functionality to enable insightful fundraising analysis.
  • To ease analysis from anywhere, such as during a board meeting or your morning commute, several metrics in Fundraising, Analyze are now optimized for your smartphone or other mobile device.
  • To view a list of the gifts a campaign, fund, or appeal received or acquired, you can now select the Revenue received amount or Gifts total on its record.
  • When you view a list from a metric, you can now select Create list to open it in Lists to apply additional filters, choose columns, or save for future reuse.
View when a gift qualifies for Gift Aid. In the UK, Gift Aid is a government incentive that enables donors to give the tax amount of their gifts as additional giving to your organization. For those of you in the UK, a status of Qualified for Gift Aid now appears on gift records that meet the necessary criteria and don't match — or are exceptions to — rules your organization sets to remove gifts it can't claim. With this status, you can quickly determine whether you can claim Gift Aid for a gift.
