What's Next: Upcoming Evolutions Of Raiser's Edge NXT

Published

Much like the little monsters filling my Pokédex in Pokémon GO!, Raiser's Edge NXT continues to evolve with its continuous and iterative releases. In 2016 alone, Raiser's Edge NXT built on Lists to open and save queries used in the database view, enabled Attachments on multiple types of records, and introduced at-a-glance fundraising analysis with Analyze (just to name a few big ticket items!). As the year rolls on, here's a sneak peek at some of the features — and evolutions of those mentioned above — to expect over the next few months!

Like with the recently released Retention metrics, Analyze will continue to evolve with additional analysis, including donor acquisition. In addition, you'll be able analyze giving from committed revenue — including pledges and matching gifts — instead of the current cash-in-hand received revenue in Analyze and on records of campaigns, funds, and appeals. Even further down the road (and something we'll discuss more in 2017): The ability to build your own metrics, and the ability to customize the formulas for giving analysis to focus on gift types that best meet your needs!

Search. To help you find constituent records, you'll be able use additional search criteria, including constituent ID (instead of just name or email address)! Also, to quickly revisit a constituent relationship, you'll also be able to view and choose from recently used records when you first select the Search for a constituent field.

Likewise, the ability to attach files to actions and opportunities — instead of just constituents — was introduced. Put them together, and you get gift attachments! With this feature, you'll be able to attach files about a gift — such as the PDF of a formal planned or legacy gift agreement or a copy of the check used for a donation — directly to its record. Even further down the road, you'll be able to view a constituent's various attachments — from across their actions, gifts, and opportunities — all together on their record.

Constituent management. In Raiser's Edge NXT, you have access to all sorts of information about a constituent. In the coming months, the constituent record will continue to evolve with the ability to edit that information directly in the web view. As with phone numbers, email addresses, and online presence, you'll be able to add and edit street addresses for full management of their contact information. Likewise, you'll be able to manage a constituent's communication preferences — known as solicit codes in the database view — to ensure successful and welcome interactions. (And that's just the start... There's more in store for constituent info, including details about relationships and the ability to manage an individual's personal details!)

Keep in mind that things could change as the months progress, so keep an eye on the What's New Help to keep up with the evolution of Raiser's Edge NXT in real time. Enjoy!
