A Day In The Life Of An NXT User: Manager Edition

Published

You made the exciting jump to RE NXT, and now all of a sudden those daily job functions seem much more important than exploring a new and changing product.  Don't fret, we are here to help you navigate the web view and make it a valuable part of your day.

Work Center - Upon login, you will arrive at your Work Center Overview.  Work Center is specific to your portfolio, displaying information specific to the constituents that you are the assigned fundraiser for.  The tabs along the top (Overview, Portfolio, Gifts, Actions, and if you have the Search module, Opportunities) will all be specific to that group of constituents.  You can still search for any constituent in the top light gray bar.

While you may have a smaller portfolio than your team members, Work Center will still be beneficial for you.  The Needs Attention section at the top of the page will help you to prioritize your portfolio by reviewing constituent record information for you and applying tags and recommendations.  You know your constituents and work flow best, so if you feel that the card is no longer needed, just click dismiss and a new card (up to 25 will be displayed) will be added to the back of your deck.  The tag will still remain on the constituent's record, so if you need to find that tag later you can filter on it in your portfolio.

Add your actions right from the cards and add those to your calendar.  Below, you will see overview panels that will give you high level information from various areas. Maybe you log in on Monday morning and see that you have 4 upcoming actions.  Click on that 4 and NXT will take you to the actions tab and show you the 4 actions that you have scheduled for the week.  NXT helps you work smarter, not harder.

Use Work Center to review your team's work as well.  Security can be set so that you can view the Work Centers of your team members - just click "change fundraiser" link right next to Work Center for Your Name to view another individual's Work Center.  Or, select "All Fundraisers" to easily see all outstanding actions and at risk constituents assigned.  You can assign actions to others from the overview.

Analyze - High level reports and dashboards are built into the NXT web view for you.  Explore the tabs that are most relevant to

you - track  your top campaigns or review donor retention and drill in to see a list of all the donations that make up the progress.  Don’t forget to save different views with your filters to have the data displayed be what is most important to you.  Email dashboard views to yourself, print the view, or export the data information out of NXT.  54233427927fa705d65c5bd991f850fa-huge-blYou can filter this by received and committed revenue.  Todefine the gift types included in these filters, work with your Admin to navigate to Control Panel, Settings so that received and committed will be custom to your organizational preferences.

Lists - Looking to segment your donors?  Start with a List in NXT since there is information identified in NXT that is not in the database view.  Segment easily by tags or wealth ratings and save the list as a static query that you can then refine further.  Segmenting by giving has never been easier.  Start with a NXT web view list to define your gift filters, click save and select "In database view as a static query".  This will then appear in the NXT Lists folder in database view Query.

The NXT web view is being built out to provide you with things that do not exist today in the database view.  Remember how I said that RE NXT was changing?  Well, it's for the better and releases are happening almost every week.  Check out “What’s New” on Tuesdays or search for it in the help fly out to learn more about newly released features.  Use the Help fly out to search for questions, you can get to Knowledgebase, the RE NXT Community, and chat with the RE NXT support team right from that fly out.
