Profile Pictures: Putting Faces to Names

Published

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT updates with some behind-the-scenes performance improvements. New features are in the works, but now's a good time to play with one of the more recent additions: Constituent profile pictures! With this feature, you can personalize your constituents' records with images — such as a headshot or company logo — to help identify them and put faces to their names. To upload — or update — a constituent's profile picture, simply select their existing pic or default avatar (like the one to the right) and browse to and select the image file to use. Note that it'll need to be a PNG, BMP, or JPG saved locally or on your network.

  • On your phone or tablet, you can upload profile pictures directly from the camera, photos, or linked cloud storage account.
  • On your computer, you can simply browse to the picture in your file explorer and then move it to the avatar.

Here's where profile pictures can get extra fun:
  • At your next volunteer opportunity, use your smart phone to capture your constituents actively supporting your mission "in the wild" and upload their pictures directly to their records.
  • At your next fundraising event, use a tablet as a makeshift "photo booth" so donors can take selfies, which you can then attach to their records.
  • As you research your constituents' social media pages in Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter (tracked under Online presence on their records), grab their profile pictures (right-click and select Save image as) for their records in Raiser's Edge NXT.
In future releases, you'll be able to track and manage a constituent's previous profile pictures and view them in lists to help personalize relationships throughout Raiser's Edge NXT. For more information about this feature, check out the Profile Pictures Help.
