What's New In Raiser's Edge NXT The Week Of May 21 (for Some)

Published

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT introduces the ability to set up Address Finder (for some in the US) and an improved way for admins to recognize users (for those with role-based security).

Easily set up and enable Address Finder (for some in the US). To help ensure the most recent contact information for your constituents, in Tools, Data Health, you can enable Address Finder to run automatically every 90 days. When Address Finder runs, it compares your data to United States Postal Service (USPS) sources and updates any inaccurate or out-of-date addresses. To help ensure Address Finder handles addresses as you'd like, when you enable it, you now choose whether to include all or specific constituents and specify an address type to apply to Moved addresses. For more information, see Address Finder Setup

Tip: When you first set up Address Finder, it automatically runs that night. After it runs, under Address Finder in Tools, Data Health, you can view the results of its update. For more information, see Address Finder.

Ease recognition of users (for those with role-based security).  Admins! To help ease recognition of users in Control Panel, Security, the name and email address — also the Blackbaud ID — a user used to accept their invitation now appear at the top of their profile. Previously, the name and email address originally used to send the user's invitation appeared. For more information, see User Details.

Hi Nicole Holt - The option you mention isn't currently available in web view, but it's a great suggestion. I forwarded your request to our Product Management team to help them as they prioritize upcoming features. If you haven't already, I suggest you also request this functionality through the Idea Bank so others can vote on it!
We have a data entry standard of spelling out Street, Road, Avenue, etc. At this time there is an option in the Database View of Data Health Center to not abbreviate address elements--is that option available in NXT? Or, if not now, do you anticipate this feature being added?
Kathleen Eastman‍ great questions. Today we only pull the Primary (Preferred) Address but we may eventually add in functionality to choose by Address Type. We have explanations of the formatting and options in our Help that address your other questions: https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/rex/content/data-address.html
Hi Kimberly,

I have a couple of questions if that is ok. I used the AddressFinder regularly at my last position, although it was not automatic as it is in NXT.  But, because it is automatic, can I select a home address to be exported even if it is not the preferred address? And, if so, will it auto save it as the same type of address as the one submitted, leaving it as a secondary address? Lastly, can I determine the formatting of the address prior to importing (or set it up as an auto preference) so not everything is abbreviated as it is with an NCOA update? I tried finding info about this in Knowledgebase but didn't see anything.

Thank you!
Hi Hallie Guiseppe - Yes! This replaces the manual Address Finder in the Data Health Center.
Does this take the place of the manual submissions I do quarterly?  It would amazing if we didn't have to remember to do that regularly.
