What's New in Raiser's Edge NXT The Week of March 2

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT announces that point-to-point encryption for credit card payments and the ability to automatically add constituents to workflows are now generally available. Also, for some, the ability to view a constituent's unapproved gifts is available. For others, the JustGiving integration now tracks gifts from donors who use guest checkout.  Process credit card payments more securely with point-to-point encryption (now generally available). To provide increased security and reduce the amount you spend on annual PCI audits, you can now enable point-to-point encryption (P2PE) for credit card payments.

0163dec31b067f6952157eb4e0e364e5-huge-p2Raiser’s Edge NXT partners with Bluefin® Payment Systems to offer a PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solution for organizations who process payments with Blackbaud Merchant Services. The solution encrypts cardholder data at the point of interaction in a PCI-approved ID Tech SREDKey P2PE device and decrypts data off-site in an approved hardware security module. After you enable point-to-point encryption from SettingsGift Management, you must swipe or key in card details through a Bluefin P2PE device each time you add a credit card payment.

For more information, see Point-to-Point Encryption.

Automatically add constituents to a workflow in Workflow designer.

To save time, you can now set workflows to automatically include new constituents who meet constituent list criteria when you create the workflows. For example, you can create a list of all constituents who give a first gift over $50 and apply it to a workflow. When a new constituent meets the criteria, the list and the workflow update to include them.

From ToolsWorkflow designer, create a new workflow. When you add the first step, select an existing list of constituents and select Apply workflow to new constituents added to this list. Otherwise, the workflow only applies to the constituents who are in the list when you activate it. For more information, see Workflows.

Note: Workflows check lists for new constituents every night beginning the date you activate the workflow. Depending on how long it takes to process, lists may complete updates during your local morning business hours.

To provide a more complete view of a constituent's giving, you can now view unapproved gifts under Giving history on a constituent’s record. An alert appears when the constituent has gifts pending approval in a batch. To view the batch number associated with an unapproved gift, select its alert in the list. For more information, see Giving History.

Note: Gifts in unapproved batches in the database view do not appear under Giving history.

Add guest checkout gifts and donor information from JustGiving.

With guest checkout, your donors can now donate through JustGiving without creating a JustGiving account, and you can track their gift on a constituent record in Raiser's Edge NXTRaiser's Edge NXT uses the name and email the donor entered to search for a match on an existing constituent record to update before it creates a new one for the donor.

If you have not enabled the JustGiving Integration yet, from Control PanelSettings, select JustGiving Integration and set defaults for new gift and constituent records from JustGiving. For more information, see JustGiving Integration.
