In an effort to continually offer new and innovative fundraising options, we’re happy to announce we are beginning to roll out PayPal as a digital payment method for Blackbaud Online Express! Enabling PayPal with Blackbaud Online Express gives you the opportunity to:
  • Offer one of the most trusted payment methods globally, used by nearly 400 million active PayPal customers
  • Create a more satisfying giving experience for donors who prefer PayPal. Organizations in the Blackbaud early adopter program found 9.6% of donor gifts came through PayPal[1]
  • Seamlessly activate PayPal for your Online Express donation, registration, or membership forms and create a smooth and secure checkout experience for your donors
  • Streamline operations with gift reporting and receipting in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT
How do I get started?

Activating PayPal is easy once PayPal integration has been activated for your account. To get started, you’ll need:
  1. Blackbaud Merchant Services account (active)
  2. PayPal Business account
  3. Blackbaud Checkout-enabled donation form
Follow these steps if you already use Blackbaud Merchant Services and have a PayPal Business account. You can be up and running within minutes! If you need to set up a new payment processing account, here's how to do this: How do I know if I have PayPal capability?

Blackbaud Online Express customers included in the first rollout “wave” were notified by email on August 3. If you’re not sure if you got the email, you can verify your PayPal activation status without needing to contact Blackbaud. Log in to your Blackbaud Merchant Service account. Under Account Management > General settings, you’ll see a tile for PayPal Commerce Platform if we’ve activated the integration for your account. Based on performance and feedback from this first wave of customers, we will add more waves until PayPal integration is generally available to all Blackbaud Online Express customers globally.
