What's New In The Blackbaud Marketplace For August?


To help you learn about new and updated features that complement your use of Raiser’s Edge NXT, we introduced this monthly feature that highlights new and updated Blackbaud Marketplace applications.

During the past month of August we saw the addition of a Giving Docs, digital estate planning integration, as well as updates to three popular fundraising apps. Read on to learn how you can expand your planned giving offerings with Giving Docs, make AI-informed asks with Ask Genius, land more matching gifts with Double the Donation, and identify, segment and prioritize donors with Fundraising KIT.

New and Updated Fundraising Apps

Giving Docs – NEW!
Giving Docs is a digital estate planning platform dedicated to advancing the impact of planned giving for U.S. nonprofit organizations. Giving Docs is now seamlessly integrated into the Raiser's Edge NXT platform, empowering partners with a whole new suite of tools to track, cultivate, and expand their planned giving efforts. This integration will allow partners to:
  • Track Giving Docs highlights on their Raiser's Edge NXT dashboard.
  • Automatically update individual records from new Giving Docs activity.
  • Search constituents based on their planned giving activity, allowing partners to steward their donors more effectively and increase constituent engagement throughout their lifetime.
AskGenius – Updated!
AskGenius connects to your Raiser’s Edge database to help you set personalized ask amounts for thousands of donors at a time based on giving history, wealth research, and behavioral science. Recently added features include:
  • Smarter algorithm. The team at AskGenius have reviewed and optimized their algorithm to help you raise more money. Two important recent updates include:
    • Slightly more aggressive asks for lower-level donors, slightly lower for high-level donors. AskGenius research shows that the greatest opportunity to upgrade donors is after they make their first gift. This adjustment puts a greater emphasis on those first-time, lower-level donors and creates an even more personalized ask experience for donors at all levels.
    • More consistent rounding across all giving levels. This update makes things cleaner for both you and your donors.
  • Update to monthly ask amounts. Based on user feedback, AskGenius updated their rounding process when you choose annual and monthly amounts for your output. Previously, monthly amount was determined by dividing the annual ask amount by ten monthly installments and then rounding the amount to the nearest $5. Because of the rounding, the monthly ask amounts didn’t always add up perfectly to the annual ask amounts. Going forward, the monthly amount won’t be rounded. That way the asks add up correctly for your donors.
  • Soft credits now available. You now have the option to include soft credits when calculating your ask amounts. Your algorithms can consider soft credits as part of the prior giving data and can use those gifts set the proper ask amounts.
  • Updated “flagged for review” criteria. Certain ask amounts get flagged for review so you can review and adjust before you send your list to be printed. The following are the new criteria that determine which ask amounts get flagged for review. Please note, that constituents could fall in more than one of these categories:
    • Annual Ask 1 is $5,000 or higher
    • Annual Ask 1 is $500 or higher and 3x the constituent’s gift to last year's appeal 
    • Annual Ask 1 is $1,000 more than the constituent’s gift to last year’s appeal
  • User experience (UX) enhancements. Updates to the UX make it even easier for you to set ask amounts, review/adjust ask amounts, and export your files.

Double the Donation - Updated!
Double the Donations matching gift product, 360MatchPro, integrates directly with your RENXT CRM and Donation forms to help fundraisers earn more matching gift revenue with ease. Their app is often updated to stay on top of industry trends and technology. Most recently, 360MatchPro underwent usability updates to aid in matching gift transaction mapping and potential troubleshooting.

With these updates, users can now view their RENXT “Connected Instance” ID within their integration settings in 360MatchPro, making it simple to differentiate their transaction sources and follow data upkeep best practices. Using this updated functionality, fundraisers can easily track and sort their matching gift data to ensure optimal integration usage.

Fundraising KIT – Updated!
Fundraising KIT is a simple plug-in to Raiser’s Edge NXT that helps predict donor behavior and shows you how to best engage with every donor in your database so they stay and grow with your organization. It can help you understand who to ask for a donation, when to reach out, and how best to connect with donors. Recent major Fundraising KIT updates include:
  • MailChimp Integration: Do you use MailChimp for your email marketing? Now, you can use the engagement and insights from MailChimp to inform donor scoring algorithms and find your next donor in Fundraising KIT.
  • Datafiniti Integration: Learn more about your donors by accessing property data and other measures of wealth within their Fundraising Kit profile.
  • Prediction Reports: The presentation-ready report that describes what the prediction is, and how to use it, to show to your Board the opportunities for prospective donors already living within your database.
