Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®: Membership Capabilities in Web View

While the initial release, described below, represents limited capabilities, Blackbaud is committed to developing fully functional Membership workflows in web view. We look to achieve functional parity with database view and to incorporate new and enhanced functionalities. This commitment aligns with our overall goal to modernize Raiser’s Edge NXT and develop a comprehensive end-to-end solution, consolidated in web view.

We took a small first step toward this goal February 27, 2024, by releasing two Membership features in web view to a limited first wave of customers. At this time, we plan to roll these Membership features out across three waves. All customers globally will have access to these features by the week of March 11, 2024.

1. View membership records for each constituent membership. The records include membership details and history.
2. Add a membership from the constituent record.

Do I have access to Membership in web view?
Once you have been provisioned with Membership in web view, when you open a constituent record you will see the new Membership tile.

Note: Not every Raiser's Edge NXT contract includes use of the Membership module in database view. If you do not have the Membership module in database view, you will not see Membership in web view since a tight functional relationship exists between the two at this time.

View Membership Details

You can now access membership records in web view, allowing you to view a summary of membership information per membership. You can view details for each membership including membership dues, program(s), commitment history, and other granular information. To view a membership record, select the membership from the constituent’s record, under Membership.

Add Membership to a Constituent

Now you can add a membership to a constituent record in web view. This addition will be mirrored in database view. To do so, from the constituent's record, under Membership, select Add Membership.

From there, enter membership details, including the membership identification number, dues, program joined, effective dates, and additional comments.



You can optionally specify the number of adults and children included in this newly added membership.

If a membership is added to a constituent's profile in web view, will their profile in database view reflect this addition?
Yes, the new membership added to the constituent's profile in web view will be reflected in database view.

Membership management in database view tracks memberships and programs for your organization. This functionality also enables you to generate reports, analyze activity, utilize specific mailing capabilities, and more. These programs are crucial to your organization’s success. It’s early days, but as we expand this capability in web view our goal is to streamline your administrative tasks by consolidating membership functionality in one place.

Membership API is available with this web view feature (the link will become visible if you are signed into the SKY Developer environment or your enabled environment). You can test the API by joining the SKY Developer Cohort environment for Raiser's Edge NXT. You will get access to the API when the web view feature is available in your environment. We encourage you to test this API against your use cases and provide feedback on it, or its technical documentation, through our Idea Bank.
