Introducing Prospect Insights for Canadian Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT® Customers

Published

We’re excited to release Prospect Insights—a new core capability for Raiser’s Edge NXT customers in Canada—providing simple, prescriptive prioritizations and recommendations for major gift fundraising based on multidimensional constituent insights and cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities.

Major gift fundraising is a cost-efficient and increasingly critical component of any successful fundraising strategy. According to the 2024 Status of Canadian Fundraising Report, major giving was identified as the top growth driver by respondents whose organizations saw an increase in voluntary income. But fundraising teams frequently struggle to determine which constituents possess both the financial capacity and the inclination to become a major donor. The same survey showed that while a majority of respondents’ organizations are using artificial intelligence in some form, just 10% are using it to predict donor behavior.

What capabilities does Prospect Insights add for Canadian organizations?
Purpose-built to adhere to Canadian data privacy regulations, Prospect Insights uses wealth data and socioeconomic data based on dissemination areain addition to giving historyto help fundraising teams in Canada identify and qualify major gift prospects directly within Raiser’s Edge NXT. The user interface offers five simple queues to help you capture more major gifts:
  1. Under-giving prospectsprospects identified as having a high likelihood for major giving and assigned to a fundraiser but who haven't reached their predicted target gift range
  2. Qualified major giving prospectsprospects who are qualified for major giving and should be assigned to a fundraiser
  3. Major giving prospects assigned to non-active fundraisers (if applicable)
  4. Untapped candidatesconstituents with high likelihood scores for major giving who haven't been qualified for cultivation yet or assigned to a fundraiser
  5. Assigned low likelihood major giving prospectsprospects who are assigned to a portfolio but have low likelihood to give a major gift and should be removed to support healthy churn
Recommendations are linked to the task and opportunity tools that you already know and use, making them simple to digest and apply immediately to your fundraising portfolios. Prospect Insights brings the power of predictive modeling right to your fingertips in a way that is prescriptive, actionable, and simple for any fundraising team to adopt. I'm very intrigued to see how this will work, and glad to hear that Blackbaud moved ahead with a solution for Canada that works with our more restrictive privacy regulations.
