Video Preview For The New Academic Profile

The 360 Profile is coming to your school soon. Here’s a rundown of the features.

The new and improved Academics Profile is coming soon to your school. We plan to release this new feature to all schools in waves starting next week.

To give you an idea of what’s coming, we recorded this video walkthrough of a sample student profile:

The new profile, also known as the 360 Profile, will display when you select a student or alumnus via the People finder or via a list in Academics. It contains the same features and capabilities as the older Academic Profile, plus a few new tools that we’ll show off in the video.

The 360 Profile has been available to some schools via an Early Adopter Program (EAP), and we’ve been using those schools’ feedback to tweak and improve the features. Back in December, we published some screenshots in this Community post.

As you’ll see in the video, the new profile is arranged in tabs labeled Contact card, Progress, Performance, Official notes, Conduct, Schedule, Course requests, and Requirements. The tabs you are able to access and the features you are able to use depend on your role at the school, which can be managed by administrators at your school via Core. Some features we demonstrated in the video, such as the Course Requests page, are previously existing features.

For more information about accessing and using the new profile tabs, see the 360 User Profile help topic. Help links for each of the tabs can be found at the bottom of the help topic page.

When the new Academic Profile Update is released, will the updated Header and Contact Card changes display to users who view the Contact Card via School Directories (Faculty persona)?

Hi Cecilia,

The updated header and contact card changes will not be impacting the view of a student's profile in the Faculty persona, such as through School Directories, at this time. The student profile view found in Faculty will continue to exist unchanged for the foreseeable future.

The student contact card in Faculty view has all the same information as the student contact card in the Academic view's 360 Profile, just in a different format in some cases. For example, some of the details on the 360 Profile's Contact information tile will display on the Faculty side in the Phone, Digital, and Address tiles.

Hope this helps!
