Spotlight: User Display Preferences

An upcoming Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT release will include an enhancement to your user display preferences, such as tile and column order (see a full list below).

With this change, your current user display preferences will be set back to their defaults. You will need to set them again, but once you do, they’ll remain in place across browser sessions and devices.

This enhancement offers a more consistent experience as you work through your day-to-day tasks. Over time, if you need to update your preferences again, they will continue to remain in place.

Here are a few more examples of user display preferences that you'll need to reset:

• Column order for a list
• Sort order for a list
• Filters
• Tile location on a page
• Expanded/Collapsed tiles on a page
• Tab selections for pages in Settings and Reporting

SKY UX Update

We’re continuing to update and modernize Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, working behind the scenes to update to the latest version of SKY UX—the underlying framework that allows us to deliver a more cohesive user experience across many of our products.

So far, we've released updates to Reporting, Fields and Tables, General Ledger settings, Chart Organizer, and Post subledgers.

The next capabilities we plan to release as part of this effort will include:

• Accounts
• Projects
• Grants

Upcoming Changes to WebPortal Login

In our continued effort to improve product security and reliability, we are pleased to announce that we are adding Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to the WebPortal login experience.

In the upcoming Financial Edge Patch 42, organizations using WebPortal will have the option to enable MFA to further secure the login experience.

To enable MFA for WebPortal, the Supervisor user will need to log in and select Enable MFA.


Once enabled, users can provide the MFA information necessary to complete the login process.

Logging in to WebPortal with MFA Enabled

1. Log in to WebPortal.
2. Enter the email address you want to use for MFA (or confirm that the existing email address is correct).
3. Next you will retrieve your one-time password (OTP) from the email address you provided.

Once you have this password, you can complete the login!

Here are a few other things to consider:

• Once an OTP is generated, it is valid for 10 minutes before expiring (f the OTP expires, you can have a new code sent to your email address).
• Once an OTP is used to complete the login, it will persist for five days before the full MFA login steps will be required (you will still need to enter your login/password combo during these five days).

Betsy double majored in Business Administration and Elementary Education from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, and now calls Mt. Pleasant, SC home.
