SKY UX Update

We’re continuing to update and modernize Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, working behind the scenes to update to the latest version of SKY UX—the underlying framework that allows us to deliver a more cohesive user experience across many of our products.

This critical effort keeps us current with the latest security and software development standards and allows us to deliver usability improvements to customers like you.

So far, we've released updates to Reporting, Fields and Tables, General Ledger settings, Chart Organizer, and Post subledgers. Much more coming soon!

You can learn more about these enhancements by checking out What's Recent.

Spotlight: Accounts Receivable Customer Tech Update

Last month we kicked off our Accounts Receivable Customer Tech Preview (CTP)!

If you aren’t familiar with CTPs, they’re a new and exciting way for us to gather customer feedback that will help enrich the development of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT capabilities. During each CTP, our product management team engages a select group of customers to test a feature and share insights about their experience.

We are currently partnering with 11 Accounts Receivable customers to learn everything we can about their AR processes in Financial Edge NXT.

Based on these conversations, here is an early prototype of our new Accounts Receivable offering.

This page will continue to change and evolve as we learn more, but the goal to help customers manage their most important Accounts Receivable processes from one easy location will remain the same.

We will keep you informed as this CTP progresses! In fact, if you want to learn more about getting involved in the next phase of this CTP, let us know in the comments section below.

Learn More: Financial Edge NXT Webinars

Based on your feedback and suggestions, our Customer Success team has developed several webinars to help you get the most out of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT.

We want you to get to know our entire Financials team. Each month we will introduce you to someone working on Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT.

Let’s start with Eddie Barker, one of the product managers currently focused on the Accounts Receivable CTP. He has been involved with accounting software on the technical side for 31 years, doing everything from development to design to implementation, support, and project management.

Eddie has been at Blackbaud for 18 years, serving in a number of roles, including support, quality assurance, and in product management. His deep product knowledge and expertise is invaluable to the team.

A native and resident of Charleston, SC, he was a professional pastry nerd before he was an accounting software nerd and can discuss 70’s and 80’s game shows in excruciating detail.

Exciting to see Blackbaud is finally sharing updates on AR implementation. For us, the AR module is long overdue. Seeing AR completely absent on the FE NXT has been a significant drawback of the transition to FE NXT. Hope to see further progress. Thanks

I'm curious about the plan for the spendable balance calculation. We were told this would be done in Q1 2020.

Thank you for this inquiry! We are constantly reprioritizing and anlyzing our features based on market demand and other factors such as security. Security and upgrading internal components and infrastructure for Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT scored higher than completing our work on spend policy. Based on current information, we plan to resume work on this in 1st quarter 2022, and will communicate dates in the Product Update Briefing (PUB) and in the Community as we get closer to an EAP (early adopter program).

Count my organization in to be part of getting involved in the next phase of this CTP for Accounts Receivable!

@Eddie Barker being a professional pastry nerd sounds like a worthwhile goal!
