What’s New
We recently released several new features in Financial Edge NXT web view!

Online security. Don’t see this yet? Online security is currently in Limited Availability (LA) for some of our customers. You can now define online security for your expense management users in web view. To define online security, go to Expense management settings, and select User settings, Edit security. Use the tabs on the left to view Purchase request security or Invoice request security.

Purchase request business rules. Purchase request business rules are currently in Limited Availability (LA) for some of our customers. You can now define business rules for purchase requests in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements to suit your organization. To define purchase request business rules, select Expenses, Settings, Business rules.

Purchase request approval rules. Purchase request approval rules are currently in Limited Availability (LA) for some of our customers. You can now apply approval rules to purchase requests in web view. Approval rules route purchase requests to selected reviewers. When you create an approval rule, you can specify if the rule is for invoice requests, purchase requests, or both.

Expense management settings. You can now specify approval groups and default approval rules to use on purchase requests. To select a default approval rule, select Edit on the Edit my settings tile.

NOTE: Administrators can set up defaults for specific users under Expense management, User settings.

You can also set up notifications and out of office forwarding for your purchase requests. From the Edit my settings page, under Purchase request notifications, select the types of notifications you want to receive, and when to send them.

Add and manage purchase order receipts in web view. For some of you, you can now add and manage purchase order receipts from Financial Edge NXT. To view purchase order receipts, navigate to Payables, Receipts. From the purchase order record, receipts info also displays from the Receipts tile and the Receipts tab at the top of the purchase order record.

View and run queries in web view! Query is currently in a read-only view. We'll monitor your feedback and make improvements as we prepare for future releases. To find records that meet certain criteria, you can now view queries created in database view from web view.

You can access Query from General ledger, Payables, Treasury, and Fixed assets. In a future release, you will also be able to access Query from Accounts Receivable.

Manage bank group security and assign users in web view. Managing bank security groups and assigning users is currently in Limited Availability (LA) for some of our customers.

Previously, you managed security groups for bank accounts in database view. Now (for some of you), you can add, edit, and delete bank security groups in web view, and specify which users are included in those groups.

Manage signature security in web view. Managing signature security is currently in Limited Availability (LA) for some of our customers.

Previously, you managed signature security in database view. In web view (for some of you), you can now allow users to select and use specific signatures. Moving this workflow to web view will open more opportunities to release important features.

What’s Next
We are currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you will see in upcoming releases:

  • Credit memos
  • Manage recurring (amount) journal entry batches in web view
  • Import Payables invoices
  • Expense management approval rule groups
  • Manage bank group security and assign users
  • Manage signature security in web view
  • Manage account and project security in web view
  • Schedule reports
  • Payables business rules

Update: Receivables in Web View!
As of yesterday, March 6, you can now add, edit, void, and delete deposits for receivables. Under the new Receivables feature area, select Deposits. On the action bar, select Add and then choose Receivables as the deposit type.

The remaining steps to add and manage a deposit for receivables is the same as a deposit in Treasury.

NOTE: The receivable payments associated with these deposits are in database view. In a future release, we'll offer full support for adding payments in web view.

So, what’s next for receivables in web view? We’ll release these features in Q1 2024:

  • Manage and edit billing item lists and records.
  • View client lists and records.
  • View charge lists and records.
  • Manage and edit lists and records for credits.
  • View payment lists and records.
  • Run the Account distribution, Open item, and Aged accounts receivable reports.
  • Manage distribution sets.
  • View and edit statements.
