PLATFORM UPDATE


Due to a platform update, the top navigation menu now consolidates into a “hamburger” type menu at an increased screen width of 1422 pixels. This mostly impacts members who log on using laptops. If you find your navigation menu missing, lower your view to 80% or below or you can access it through the hamburger menu in the top right corner.



GET TO KNOW A NINJA


Each week, we aim to bring you a little closer to one of our Blackbaud Community super users (AKA Ninjas). This week, we’d like to introduce Brent Troth, donor systems specialist at WakeMed Foundation. Brent is a green Community ninja, a Blackbaud Champion, and certified in both Raiser's Edge® and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT®







What area are you in (geographically) and why do you love it?

Work is in Raleigh, North Carolina but I live a hour east of there in a small rural community.  I love them both. Raleigh has a lot to offer as an up-and-coming city; restaurants, shopping, etc. , but I also love my husband’s and my peaceful life in our very quiet town. 


What do you enjoy about the Blackbaud Community?

The Blackbaud Community is a tremendous resource.  It is a group of people who share ideas and inspire me every time I visit.  I’ve made friends through the Community who I cherish - even the ones I’ve never met in person.  It’s also a place where I, as someone with many years of experience with Blackbaud products, can offer help to people struggling with issues that I may have faced in the past and I can lighten their burdens a bit.  There’s great satisfaction is sharing what you know.


What is something that you never thought you’d enjoy at your current job that gets you up and motivates you now?

I left a job that I loved and where I’d been for years to come to my current organization.  I had grown comfortable with my role there and the idea of starting fresh was daunting.  However, at WakeMed Foundation, I have found a very supportive team who truly all GET IT!  Everyone here understands how critical data is to everything we do and therefore, the “database folks” are respected and our input is sought out and listened to. This motivates us to make sure that we always give our best to the team to move our mission forward every day.
