Donor Portal

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for advice... This past year, we launched the Award Management side of AcademicWorks, and it went really well. Now, we are starting to take a closer look at how to start utilizing the Stewardship Management side. Do you have any tips or tricks to share in regard to launching the donor portals? Anything you maybe learned through the process or would suggest we consider before jumping in? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Annie Nelson

  • 1. Make sure on the Awards Management side, they left you one of the 3 columns (Fund code, Project ID, or Aux. Fund Code) to use for mapping.

    2. The more planning you do now, the better the end product and Don't send your information until you are happy with it.

    3. Include someone from Scholarships and someone from Donor Relations and someone from your Data Management on your team. This will help to avoid hiccups.

    4. Figure out what you want your end product to be and look like.
  • Thank you, De. Those are great tips that I will definitely keep in mind as we move through the process. Do you have any thoughts on ensuring the look of the portal is what we want? Did you do a lot of customization on your end? I know the system does have some limitations, so I was just curious what is even possible. Thanks again for everything!
  • Sorry, I currently have no tips on that part. We are still working it out ourselves.

  • Hi De,

I know it's been awhile since we connected, but I thought I'd follow-up to see if you had launched your Donor Portal yet. I'm really starting to dig into the process now, so I wanted to reach out.

    Happy Holidays,

    Annie
  • Hi Andrea, thank you for the question, but you were chatting with De Calloway, not me. Best wishes with your donor portal as that's on my radar next.
