Duties and Responsibilities

The Database Analyst acts as an extension of our nonprofit clients’ internal Development, Finance, and IT staff to expand their expertise and capacity. The Database Analyst will also engage on transformative projects.

The Database Analyst:

  • supports day-to-day operational needs related to CRM, fundraising, and financial data processing and analytical tasks,
  • proactively seeks ways to streamline client operations by translating client needs, business rules, data, and organizational directives into effective and efficient system configurations, data structures, and workflow processes,
  • supports client data quality and data hygiene objectives by identifying opportunities for improvement and designing, testing and documenting quality control procedures, and
  • continuously expands client capacity and mentors client team members through knowledge transfer, training, confidence building, and formal documentation.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to support internal process improvements, share product knowledge, and best practices.
  • Organize and maintain key documents and content (using Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams).
  • Engage in ongoing personal skills and knowledge development, maintaining awareness of new software products, capabilities and features, and actively assessing ways to apply them for client success.

Key Qualifications

Technical & Work Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with nonprofit fundraising, CRM, and/or finance operations.
  • Experience with one or more common nonprofit CRM, fundraising, and/or finance tools from vendors such as Blackbaud, Salesforce, EveryAction, Microsoft, and other commonly used nonprofit solutions.
  • Competence in the following areas of business application functionality: batch gift entry, queries and report development, export, import, global change/bulk update functionality.
  • Knowledge of related applications such as online giving and digital marketing tools, prospect research and wealth rating tools, integration tools such as Omatic, and analytic and reporting tools is also valuable.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years minimum working with business applications in the nonprofit sector and/or a professional services-based business.
