Notifications in Raiser's Edge NXT

To help increase your productivity, Raiser's Edge NXT is launching a new notification feature! Have you ever been stuck on a page in Raiser’s Edge NXT waiting for a long process, such as a batch with hundreds of gifts, to complete? To help increase your productivity, we’re excited to launch our new notification feature! Now you can navigate away after you start processing gift batches and receipts because you’ll get an alert when they’re done.

Where can I find notifications?

Similar to app notifications you see on your phone, the count appears over a new bell icon in the navigation.

To view the notifications, and clear the count, select the number.

Each notification in the dropdown contains a link back to the page where you started the process so you can complete your tasks. After you click a link, the background of the notification changes to a white background.

Which types of notifications are available?

Notifications are currently available after you process large gift batches or send multiple gift receipts. They’re also available for Sky app developers through the SKY Developer Portal when customers connect to their apps from the App Marketplace. As we add new notifications, we’ll announce them with the in-product new features and here in the Raiser’s Edge NXT blog. Stay tuned!

When do I get this feature?

We started releasing notifications to customers in waves on Tuesday, August 5th.

  • This will be so helpful! This is one of the most frustrating things about RE, so nice to see that NXT is moving away from this.
  • Is there a way to get email notifications on foundations in my portfolio? when deadlines are, or LOI, or next steps, so i can link to my outlook. just trying to be more efficient while transparent with RE record keeping.

  • @Veronica Studnicka , the way RE web view is designed is that you use the Actions tab in your Work Center to see this for things that are tasks — deadlines, LOI, reports, things you need to send, calls you need to make, emails you need to send, etc. The design is that it's expected that fundraisers use RE every day — they're fundraisers, it's the fundraising system — and their first stop every day is their Work Center. The Actions tab can be filtered easily to show past, present and future actions, of whatever status and date range desired, so you can focus on what you need to at that moment. RE does not natively send emails to tell you everything you need to do, you'd just have an overfull inbox if RE is being used correctly, it just expects you to log in and look at its reminders on the Actions tab of the Work Center. If you insist you want emails, that will require Power Automate which is either going to take time of someone there to program it or money for you to find a third-party developer to program it for you.

However, things you need to do that are appointments that need to be on your calendar — scheduled phone appointments and meetings — you can put on your calendar when creating the action in RE — it's an option below the big notes box and then your Outlook calendar can remind you about those like any other appointment on your calendar.

    Hope that's helpful.
