New Christmas Traditions

Many of our usual Christmas traditions are affected by Covid this year.  Have you adopted any new Covid-friendly ways to celebrate in 2020?  I am going old school this year and mailing out Christmas cards again.

Our office has moved our Christmas jumper contest online this year - we've been posting our festive poses on the internal messageboard and on Friday we're having a festive Zoom party where the winners will be announced.

Otherwise, the home Christmas stuff has been pretty much the same as usual - although I'll be attending a livestreamed midnight Mass rather than going in person (and this year, I guess it will actually be at midnight rather than my parish's practice of having it at 9pm on Christmas Eve!!)
  • Your work contest sounds fun Rachel!  I don't know what we'll be doing for Christmas this year in my office.  Most of us are working remotely and restaurants are closed down per state order (Michigan).  We usually have a gift exchange in the office and then go out for lunch.

We put our tree and outs1de decorations up Thanksgiving weekend, which is a first. My birthday is December 9, and growing up it was always a tradition not to decorate for Christmas until after my birthday! This year I needed the early cheer!!
