We're religious but also higher ed. We have primary constituencies Alumnus, Alumnus parent, Student parent, Friend, Foundation, Religious Org, Business/Org, Monk, Monk Family, Acquisition Donor, as well as secondary membership constituencies like Planned Giver, Sustainer, Oblate, Grant Contact, employee, Board Member.

Higher ed and still in midst of constituent code clean up. These are the ones we expect to find at least one of on every record:

alumnus/a
endowment (hold an endowed fund with us)
"Hardrock Club" - our athletic department who share database
company
Foundation
faculty/staff
student
friend of Mines
online event registrant
heritage society (have non-endowed fund/scholarship)

Others used include:

board/trustee member
Emeritus
former faculty/staff
ex-student (non-grad)
parent

Still working on clean-up. Got rid of code of 'deceased' and 'widow/er' on hundreds of records. They are not in our database because they are deceased.

The number preceding the codes is meant to allow us to easily sort these, as well as a visual cue to data entry folks which one should be first on Bio 2 (since that is what RE considers their “primary” constituent code).
