What is your "go to way" to cultivate peace?

My thirteen year old daughter is in to sharing life "hacks" with me and they work! The hack we talked about last week was cultivating inner peace. She taught me about a technique called ASMR. I actually feel "tingles" when I listen to the ASMR videos.

I just took a break and searched "how to find peace" and found 40 ways! https://www.lifehack.org/articles/communication/40-ways-achieve-peace-mind-and-inner-calm.html

What is your "go to way" to cultivate inner peace?

In peace and joy,

Elizabeth

Now that we are in the world of working remotely I have the extra time that would have been my commute to sit outside and commune with nature. In the morning with my cup of coffee and after work watching the sun set.
  • Cuddling with this girl, she only looks possessed!
  • Spending time in nature, especially near an ocean or lake, or chilling with my cat. Those are my favorites. I probably am meditating a bit sometimes during these times.
  • I've been practicing a lot of self-care, meditating, and journaling. I take hot epsom salt/lavender/coconut oil baths and go for a deep tissue massage once a month.

I began walking on January 1st and am really enjoying getting out twice a day in nature. It's actually been -33 Celcius or colder since last Friday and so I haven't been out since then.

I write positive affirmations on sticky notes every day. I listen to a lot of webcasts and podcasts about ascension and increasing my vibrations to be more positive and aligned with others who are doing the same. I resonate with all things positive and aim to share my positivity with as many others as I can.

I enjoy giving to others as well.
  • In theory, anytime I step away from my computer or truly put down my iPhone, I open up to becoming re-grounded. In the absence of much human contact in the shadow of COVID, the iPhone and computer are distractions more than anything else.

Cooking, watching good TV (anything from Call the Midwife, to This is Us, to 30 Rock), or taking a socially distant walk with a neighbor all help me hold on to my sanity in this crazy world.
  • My 13-year-old also introduced me to ASMR during these pandemic times, but I don't find those sounds peaceful at all. Instead of tingles, I get the cringes ? But I find just taking a few moments to step away from the screen -- optimally outside (since I live in AZ where we're not under a severe winter storm) -- and taking some deep breaths goes a long way toward bringing a sense of peace in the midst of hectic days.

Lately, I've been playing a lot of Civilisations 5 on SUPER-EASY mode :D It's a little repetitive but pretty relaxing.
